Let the Healing Begin
People,
I don’t know if I mentioned all these dates in the last blast. But, I am here to confirm that this Thursday (tomorrow!) we’re headed to Santa Cruz and Big Sur to kick off an action packed Summer of dates.
As for Hipnic? Apparently Caltrans will be pulling out all the stops. Putting your tax dollars to the test, to clear Highway One for us to make our way back to Fernwood Campground and Resort. OK, so we’re down to one lane. Either way, we’ll be back in Big Sur with the unsafe-at-any-speed Mission Express. And as an added bonus: the CP acoustic Trio with Stephie and Vicente will be playing a Sunday morning set. Plus I’ll be spinning records throughout the weekend between sets. It’s all going down. And when it’s not we’ll be stargazing from our cabin in the woods. Join us for the festival that’s got it all. No artificial flavors. Just soft sea breezes, towering redwoods and waves softly splashing down on the Big Sur sands. Not to mention other splendid performers like The Mother Hips (hey, it’s their festival), Robyn Hitchcock, and Jonathan Richman… Let the healing begin.
The following weekend, I’ll be bringing my song and dance revue to the mean streets of Mill Valley for a show at the Sweetwater Music Hall.
Some shows are SOLD OUT or nearly so, so get your tickets now. Also, I’d tell you to beware of scalpers in the parking lot. But, not bloody likely.
Then we’re off to Mexico for the Circus Mexicus festival. With a stop on the way in Tucson at the Hotel Congress Outdoor Stage.
After that, we’ll be working our way through the midwest with shows in Kansas City, St Louis, Madison, Milwaukee, and St Paul, to mention a few. Deets below and here.
We’ll bring it all back home to Guerneville for our own Summertime Thing. Of course, you know about Summertime Thing. As in the festival, right? Right?!
Somehow it all comes together even without a GoFundMe page. We have our ways. In fact, we might hold a Mission Express car wash or whatever. Whatever it takes to keep this show on the road. Or maybe I could encourage you to buy something? We’ve got a lot of great stuff in our online stores.
And while we’re here, it once again occurs to me that people who say they love vinyl and don’t buy it are cheap bastards. We can help you. We have tons of vinyl including Age of Miracles (on vinyl for the first time outside of a limited German release in 2004), the Bobby Fuller reissue, and Night Surfer on 7” singles. (We found another box!)
Don’t let it go pear-shaped, good people.
Onwards,
–CP
