Love and kisses and broken fingers…
I’ve been thinking about a lot of weird stuff lately: Like how much Betty Ford accomplished in her life. And how people that are “into real estate” creep me out a little; and how weird people get about Raiders football. And how I’m always surprised when people say, “we should probably get some gas” when there’s still like an eighth of a tank. But mostly, I’ve been thinking about how much fun this new Stephanie Finch and the Company Men video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EbEqZLXgj0&feature=g-all-u&context=G26992ecFAAAAAAAAAAA
We’ve got shows to announce too (in no particular order). First off, this weekend is Crockett and Santa Rosa. Next, we’re playing two nights during the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in SF at the Make Out Room. As usual, we’ve got a few friends in from out of town, so we thought we’d offer a warm dry place to come and have a beverage and hear some music. I just talked to Luther Dickinson who will come down and play and I’m sure we’ll run into some other friends headed this way to come down. It’s an early show. As in 7:00 PM early.
Save this date: a Save KUSF Benefit at the Rickshaw on Oct. 21 Battlehooch & Chuck Prophet (with special guest Roy Loney)
Merchville: We’ve got a new DVD: Chuck Prophet And The Spanish Bombs Live DVD. The Spanish Bombs recorded this show live for Basque Radio Television and it’s pretty slick. http://www.bellesound.com/music
Got some solo shows coming up too. Gonna play some new songs. Or maybe they’ll play me. We’ll see. See you down at the swimming hole, campers.
All the best (and all the rest),
CP

Chuck here. I understand that the DVD doesn’t play in some DVD players. This is harshing our mellow at (((belle sound))) in a big way. As I’m typing, we’ve had 3 have come back. We’re happy to send a full refund. Postage, the whole deal. Keep the DVD too. Maybe you’ll get a new player down the road. Or maybe you might check it out on your computer. I do want everyone to know that I tested these damn DVD’s before we sold them. Of course, we sold them all over Europe and never had a complaint. Turns out that’s where it came from originally, so the region thing wasn’t an issue. Now, after some research it turns out my little Best Buy $100.00 Philips DVD player is an “All Region” player so I wouldn’t have known anyway. Out of all the one’s we’ve sold only a couple people have DVD players that don’t play it. Anyway, we went on to sell a mess of these things after I mentioned it in my newsletter. Like I said, now we’ve had 3 come back. And there could be more. I totally apologize for the inconvenience. I don’t want to mislead anyone. And I also don’t want people to think it won’t play in their players. Because, as it turns out, most players these days don’t have that region issue. Yours, C |
