WEST MEMPHIS THREE FREED!
PRESS RELEASE:
Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley were freed today from prison after serving eighteen years for being wrongfully convicted in the murder of three children in 1993.
****
More than a few prayers were answered yesterday. I watched the live press conference live on the innerweb. It was a very emotional, joyful day. To think that these guys were locked away as teenagers and grew up in an an ugly hostile and violent environment for crimes they did not commit for 18 years. Chew on that.
I wish I could have been in AR. The sun is inside me burning to see Damien, Jessie and Jason set free.
Jason expressd how unhappy he was having to admit guilt to get Damien off death row. But the state pissed on them. It’s up to them to honor their own lives. Each OTHERS lives. And they’re doing it. And as Damien said, “It’s not perfect.” Jason said, “This was not justice. In the beginning we told nothing but the truth. We were innocent, and they sent us to prison for the rest of our lives.”
It was very touching to see these guys who haven’t been in a room together since 1993 smiling. To see Jason reach out and hug Jessie and Damien - so ready to show affection and love. Such a gentle soul. When asked, “What now?”, Jason said he’s ready to get the hell out of there and live his life too. “The best I can”.
Hello Folks,

For this gig, Ill be playing all new songs for a new record coming down the pike.
The working title is Temple Beautiful, the name of a long gone venue on Geary St. right between the Fillmore and the storefront church of one Reverend Jim Jones.
In a futile attempt to capture lightning bugs in a bottle and set them free, we’ve worked up a batch of songs all about San Francisco. Specials guests include Roy Loney and others (as we get our act together).
It’s all in there. Jack London to Mark Twain, from the Grateful Dead to the DK’s.
Songs include Emperor Norton in the Last Year of his Life to Willie Mays (Is Still Swinging for the Fence) to Trying to Get a Cab on a Saturday night…
Characters include Laughing Sal, Fillmore Slim to Carlos Guitarlos…
The Rickshaw is a pretty cool place. Added bonus: (for those of you with wheels), it’s not so hard to park around there. Pretty easy in fact.
Yours,
C
