Nice, thanks. I'm really looking forward to the Northampton show on March 4th. A Lucinda Williams and Chuck Prophet show would be great. This reminds me of something.---> In Northampton, the Iron Horse is a more laid back joint, a little classy and has great sound. This would afford Chuck and the band to really shine as the incredible song craftsmen they are, even with covers like those on Dreaming Waylon's Dream. Some of my favorite songs are also masterpieces and lean toward the more ethereal and "quieter" side of Chuck, like, Age of Miracles, Solid Gold, I'll Be Alright, Ooh Wee, Homemade Blood, You and Me Baby Holding Hands, La Paloma, Talkin' New Kingdom, ---> part of a dream play list for a place like Iron Horse :) Get "Crazy"!

I meant, You and Me Baby (holding on). I'll add to my dream Iron Horse list --> Barely Exist and Leave the Window Open. My list and what I'd love is about being daringly weird and wonderful, the kind of beauty that exist in strange territory. The interspersed rockers like near breaks in the incredible majestic madness that chuck contains, tames and whips into fiery frenetic orgasmic sound. For this I believe needs second helpings of Stephie Finch just tearing a hole in my head.

Yeah UK dates are NEEDED...especially the much-neglected West Midlands - lot of good people now playing the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham, bypassing the usual Academy/Glee/Barfly route.

Agreed, however UK dates down south in the UK would be good too. Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, just post the date and I will be there :o)

Home Field Advantage

In these times of balancing your dollars against the value received, there is one sure bet to be on the winning side of the equation: the recession-proof sounds of the joyous Mission Express. And, in a unabashed display of what home-field advantage really means, the Mission Express put on two epic shows this weekend in the Bay Area. On Friday at the Mystic Theatre in the overly-charming burb of Petaluma, Chuck and Co. rocked a sold-out crowd in this converted old movie theater. Following the basic plan of this recent tour, there was a good dose of the LFR! tunes. Hot Talk is the live favorite here… especially the frantic instrumental ending - would love to see that stretched out even more. Of course there were some great covers. They really own the Yardbirds tune I'm Not Talking, but Chilton's Bangkok is just something no other band would even attempt… I hope this stays on the agenda for long time. There were surprises too; even for the band. CP popped out Pin A Rose much to the surprise of the ever-able Mission Express, who handled it perfectly. The next night in Berkeley at the unofficial venue of the Mission Express, the Starry Plough, the band stretched it out even more. Another surprise tune (for the band as well…) was Just To See You Smile. I hope CP continues to toss a few surprises out each show - risk and reward. We also got treated a show-closing mashup with the opening act lead, Brad Brooks (see this guy, he is very very good); including Rebel Rebel. Yikes. Epic shows indeed. Lucky those who have them coming to a town near you… don't miss this tour.

I too saw them a the Mystic and they put on a great show - nearly two hours of non-stop excellence. If ever a band was made to do a live album - this is the one.

I broke up with my girlfriend (or whatever, the chick I was boinking to be exact) at this show because of you and your wicked music! Because of you I found out she was no girl scout... which isn't totally a bad thing but dammit!
