It’s strange, but I just got Let Freedom Ring yesterday, and the first time I heard Hot Talk it reminded me so much of Empty Lives, so much so , that I UTubed it to listen to it for the first time in a while. I guess just the delivery and the way the song builds. GP and CP, two of the most incredibly talented and under rated rockers of all time. The music biz is so fucked up.

Empty Lives? I’ll seek that out.

Chuck….I know it aint 1979 but here’s something else your list omitted….  it sure looks like something to ward off swineflu. Ever considered a brass section like this?

Ah, 1979 - Sonora High School - I was definately hitting alot of that playlist (especially the punk stuff).  I’m going to try to come see you here in Portland next week at Mississippi.

Howdy, Chuck.
I was never really with it, music-wise, until usually about ten years later. In seventy-nine The Rubinoos were in heavy rotation on my play list, and as you once said, “Greg Kihn used to be happening”. That’s how I met you, playing with that band that didn’t make your bio. When I hear “power pop” the band that springs to the top of my list is The Squares. Did they ever record anything that you know of?
